John Carten
Elder

John & Gail Carten were married on April 2nd, 1983 at Christian Assembly.  John came to the Lord in August 1976. They have four children, Benjamin, Lydia, Abigail and Katherine and live in Arlington, Virginia.  John first started attending the church in 1979 and Gail began attending in 1982.  John became a Deacon in 1986 and then an Elder in 1995.  Together they have also served as home group leaders.  Gail served as Children's Minister from 1992 through 2004, while John served as the Children's Sunday School Superintendent during this time.  A talented musician, Gail serves as one of the Church worship leaders. John and Gail relax on weekends by enjoying ballroom dancing.  One of John's favorite Bible verses is: Romans 8:28. 

John is employed by the National Railroad Passenger Corporation as Director of Board Liaison.  He has a BS in Commerce from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the George Washington University.  Gail teaches 4^th grade at Northern Virginia Christian Academy.  She has a BS in elementary education from James Madison University.
